BOZEMAN, MT, May 10th, 2021 - Allied BIM, LLC., a global leader in providing digital fabrication solutions for assembly creation, spool sheet optimization and digital machine fabrication today announced two new integrations with Autodesk BIM 360® and Autodesk Revit®. Fabrication Tools and Fabrication Center are now publicly available on the Autodesk Exchange App Store.

Allied BIM’s Fabrication Center allows seamless information transfers between 3D designers and fabrication shop foremen supervisors. BIM 360 is a construction management solution part of the Autodesk Construction CloudTM, and Autodesk Revit® is a multidisciplinary BIM software for higher-quality coordinated designs.

These new integrations allow customers to access project files including 3D models from all their BIM 360 hubs directly in the Fabrication Center. With all of their information available in one centralized location, joint customers easily cancan easily manage assemblies, create packages, and place orders, providing enhanced communication with Fabrication Center stakeholders. The information displayed in the Fabrication Center is directly derived from Autodesk Revit models that have been spooled and published with Allied’s - Fabrication Tools plugin or other spooling tools available on the market. This allows for seamless information transfer between Autodesk Revit models and the BIM 360 Fabrication Center integration via BIM 360. Allied’s goal is to create a centralized space for designers, fabricators, and field installation teams to publish, track, and communicate.

Advanced integrations allow fabrication teams to gain critical insights on material procurement and availability, enhancing fabrication processes and managing financial impacts. Customers can maintain exceptional project visibility to make informed decisions from design through fabrication allowing a reduction in material costs, labor, and scheduling.

"The Autodesk team continues to provide solutions and cutting-edge technologies that allow us to create what was once a dream," stated Brian Nickel, COO of Allied BIM. "We look forward to providing our Allied partners and Autodesk users with accurate real-time data from Fabrication Center that will ultimately allow project teams to optimize their fabrication processes globally."

“As prefabrication processes become more popularized, teams need to collaborate around their models with various stakeholders in the fabrication shop," says James Cook, head of integrations at Autodesk Construction Solutions. “Integrating our design and construction solutions with Allied BIM empowers teams to keep stakeholders up-to-date on the latest models and documents needed to keep projects on track with reduced miscommunications and risk for mistakes.”

The integrations include six new major benefits for Fabrication Suite and Autodesk customers, keeping their office and fabrication shop workflows connected in a single ecosystem:

  • Assemble: Assemble Revit models with easy-to-use tools. Quickly rename and renumber the assemblies and search through the assemblies with the Assembly Manager.

  • Spool: Batch select assemblies, spool from selected assemblies, map stored assembly settings, and spool from a selected pick setting. Minimize tedious out-of-the-box workflows with the Assembly Manager.

  • Fabricate: Connect TigerStop, an automated cutting station, to the Fabrication Center and map TigerStop settings to connect the entire process. Select assemblies from the Assembly Manager and export directly to TigerStop.

  • Publish: Integrate existing projects to view fabrication models in BIM 360.

  • Track: Review assemblies and track the progress of procured materials on the Fabrication Desktop application. Connect to Revit’s Assembly Manager and take control of the fabrication process.

  • Communicate: Sync Revit with Fabrication Tools, assemblies, and model information in BIM 360 to communicate with all project stakeholders in a unified platform. Assign work orders to specific shops, send orders to suppliers, and visualize the fabrication process.
